A briological team composed by María J. Cano, M. Teresa Gallego, Juan A. Jiménez from University of Murcia (Spain), and Guillermo Suárez from Fundación Miguel Lillo of Tucumán (Argentina) carried out an expedition to Argentina in February of 2008. This trip was funded by Spanish Ministry of Education and Science through the project “Study of the tribes Barbuleae and Bryoerythrophylleae (Pottiaceae, Bryophyta) in South America” (CGL2007-60692) and Fundación Séneca of Murcia through the project 02979/PI/05.
This exploration was carried out thanks to the cooperation of Museo Botánico of Córdoba (CORD). About 550 specimens of bryophytes were collected, keeping primarily at MUB with duplicates at CORD, and LIL.
